Lawyers for businesswoman Asha “Mrs Ram” Mirchandani and the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) have come to an amicable agreement in their long-running dispute surrounding the provision of water to the Casa Grande Hotel in St Philip.

“The behaviour of counsel has been exemplary and the court commends them for the way they have approached the matter, and the efficient way which the order was brought before the court, crafted and agreed,” Chief Justice Sir Patterson Cheltenham said yesterday.

The Knitwear Ltd/BWA matter was back before Sir Patterson and Justices of Appeal Francis Belle and Margaret Reifer in the Court of Appeal.

Mirchandani had filed an appeal against a High Court decision, dated August 6, 2019, which granted her an injunction against the utility company but ordered her to comply with several conditions. (RA)
