Nine new virus cases, four people recover

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified nine new positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) – three males and six females – on Saturday, May 8, from among the 504 tests conducted.

Four people recovered from the virus and were discharged. There are currently 105 people in isolation.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has moved to 3 942 (1 905 women and 2 037 men). There have been 3 856 recoveries and 45 deaths since March 2020.

The public health laboratory has carried out 158 788 tests.

The National Vaccination Programme has seen 75 476 people vaccinated (first and second doses) against COVID-19. Of these, 31 894 persons have been fully vaccinated during the second phase of the programme. (BGIS)
