Two new virus cases, 8 people recover

Two women are the latest people to test positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). These new cases were identified on Thursday, May 13, from the 671 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

There are now 88 people in isolation.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries have moved to 3 916, as eight people were discharged from isolation on Thursday.

Barbados has recorded 3 961 confirmed cases of the viral illness since the first case was identified in March last year. Of these, 1 915 were women and 2 046 men. So far, the lab has carried out 161 835 tests. There have been 46 deaths.

As it relates to the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, 75 794 vaccinations have been administered, to date. This includes 41 130 people who have been fully vaccinated under the second phase of the programme. (BGIS)
