The Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) has labelled as fake news a “wanted persons” bulletin of four men that has been circulating on social media.

The RBPF has denied that the poster is a current one and has informed the public that it was published on January 4, 2015.

Following is a brief statement from police.

“It has been brought to the attention of the Royal Barbados Police Force that the [photograph] and similar documents have been circulating on social media. From our records these persons were the subject of a wanted persons media release issued by the Police Public Relations Department on January 4, 2015.

“This bulletin has not been recirculated to any media from the Public Relations Office of the Royal Barbados Police Force nor have we sent out any media releases pertaining to wanted persons within the last 48 hours.

“This we deem as another matter of fake news designed to create confusion.” (PR)
