Students of the St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Primary School have fully resumed online learning due to the closure of the Bay Street, St Michael school from today.

A statement signed by Bishop Elect and Apostolic Administrator Neil Scantlebury confirmed that the closure was due to the school possibly being exposed to a case of coronavirus (COVID-19), and that it would be closed until further notice.

“Pleased be informed that out of an abundance of caution and as mandated by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Primary School will be closed from Tuesday, May 25 until further notice.

“The closure is as a result of the school being exposed to a possible case of COVID-19. The school is in the process of being sanitised and all necessary protocols of the Ministry of Health and Wellness are being followed.

“The school has returned to its online format during this period of closure. We pray that this situation will be resolved to the satisfaction of everyone and that students will return to school for classes,” the statement said. (TG)
