President of the Men’s Empowerment Network Support (MENS), Fabian Sargeant, has added his voice to the growing outrage over the viral dancehall video Trojan Riddim Mix, which has been blasted for advocating gun violence.

In condemning the video and lyrics, he said there were some segments of this society which made it extremely difficult for MENS, or any other men’s organisation, to champion the cause of males.

Sargeant said the artistes were taking advantage of the vulnerability of some young men in a society that had already been rocked by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“On the heels of the vulnerability of those who are now jobless, with some looking for psychological support and going through trauma, families have broken down, and you mean this is the best that they could do?” he asked. (JB)
