Seven months after he confessed his part in the murder of Barbados Defence Force Private David Nicholas Blenman, Shaquan Sherwin Omar Crichlow wants to change his plea.

He made his intention known yesterday when he reappeared in the No. 2 Supreme Court.

It was in November 2020 that Crichlow, 23, of Skeete’s Road, Jackman’s, St Michael, along with his girlfriend Faith Angelica Pile, 25, and her brother Jamar Antonio Pile, 30, both also of Skeete’s Road, Jackman’s, pleaded guilty to the non-capital murder of Blenman between November 30 and December 1, 2016. The three were originally charged with murdering the man but denied that capital count.

Yesterday, appearing via Zoom, Crichlow told the court: “I came today to take back my guilty plea.” (HLE)
