Let us all join hands as we go on a journey to curtail violence within society, and End Violence Now.

That was the rallying call of Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Dwight Sutherland as he delivered the feature address at the launch of the national anti-violence campaign, End Violence Now, at the Wildey Gymnasium, St Michael, Saturday night.

And to begin that journey, the Ministry of Youth is set to roll out a $100 000 anti-violence campaign which will use sensitisation programmes, targeted messages, training and social intervention initiatives to effect behavioural change in Barbados.

“The initial stages of this project will involve partnering with community and religious leaders, volunteers, public and private sector agencies and ordinary Barbadians like you – each one having a crucial role in building out and contributing to programmes in our neighbourhoods, schools, places of worship, business places and even virtually through online communities,” Sutherland said.
