Barbados’ premier attraction Harrison’s Cave drew scores of visitors when it reopened today after a 16-month closure due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

A steady flow of people of all ages, some who had booked online and others who just turned up, took advantage of the opportunity to take the tram tour through the natural wonder, which has undergone a name change under new management.

Officials of Chukka Caribbean Adventures, the new operators of the facility, were there to welcome patrons to Harrison’s Cave Eco Adventure, the new name for the facility which will be enhanced with features such as a zip line and a dry slide.

It was only the second visit to the Cave for some patrons who said they had taken the tram tour many years ago as a one-time experience. But Chukka’s chief executive officer Marc Melville said his company intended to change that with a new business plan that would see more activities being introduced and added features designed to cater to wider interests of patrons.
