Nathan Crawford-Wallis wins gold at NACAC meet

Nathan Crawford-Wallis produced Barbados’ first medal at the North American, Central American, and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Under-23 championships today in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Competing in the Under-20 division, the 19-year-old former Christ Church Foundation athlete won gold with a jump of 14.92 metres on his sixth and final attempt.

Hometown boys Elias Rodriquez (14.05) and Gary Chinchilla (13.13) won silver and bronze respectively.

Jonathan Miller won the island’s second medal, a gold, in the men’s Under-23 triple jump with a leap of 16.00 metres while Jadon Brome (15.12) took bronze. (AGB)
