Singer and songwriter Lew ‘Jiggs’ Kirton is alive.
His wife Maureen Kirton confirmed that contrary to reports out of the United States, where they reside, Kirton had not passed.
“My husband is alive and well and alert and I’m going to see him. Yes, he’s in the hospital but it is nothing that he’s not moving. I want everyone to know that he alive and talking.”
Some entertainers here, including his friend Richard Stoute, told The Nation they had been contacted with the news of Kirton’s death yesterday and immediately reacted by expressing condolences.
However, family members contacted The Nation to say that the information posted was not true.
