Five men, five women added to new COVID cases

Five females and five males were identified as COVID-19 positive by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory from 1 288 tests conducted on Tuesday, July 20.

The number of people in isolation stands at 165.

Barbados has recorded 4 302 cases of COVID-19 comprising 2 089 females and 2 213 males from the start of the pandemic back in March last year. Forty-eight people succumbed to the virus.

To date, 204 589 tests were carried out by the public health laboratory.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 98 450 people received first doses of the vaccines, while 73 621 persons were given second doses. Those who are fully vaccinated represent 27.2 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
