The identity of the woman who died at Ruby Park, St Philip, is still unknown at this time.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death after the 39 year old mother was found hanging.
Residents said they were alerted to the incident in the wee hours of the morning and this was the first time something of this nature occurred in the neighbourhood.
They said the house was a rented property and there had been a number of tenants living there over the years.
They did not know the woman’s identity or from where she originated.
