12 new virus cases, 153 people in isolation

Five males and seven females have been diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19).  The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory carried out 1 672 tests on Saturday, August 21.

The number of people in isolation is 153.

There have been 4 652 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (2 271 females and 2 381 males) since March, last year. Forty-eight persons have succumbed to the virus.

The public health laboratory has conducted 248 865 tests since February 2020.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 102 649 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.  Additionally, 90 027 people (37 363 men and 52 664 women), or 33.2 per cent of the population, have received second doses and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
