Twenty-six new cases of COVID-19, 14 males and 12 females, were recorded by the Best-dos Santos Public Health laboratory from 1 301 tests carried out on Tuesday, August 24.
There are currently 176 people in isolation.
Since March 2020, 4 720 confirmed cases of the virus (2 303 females and 2 417 males) were recorded. Â Forty-eight lives were lost to the viral illness.
The public health laboratory conducted 252 611 tests, since February last year.
As part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 104 678 persons have received first doses of the vaccines. Â Additionally, 92 025 second doses were also administered and those individuals who are fully vaccinated represent 34 per cent of the population. (BGIS)
