He uses the almost eight and a half pounds of marijuana police found at his home for his asthma, Edwy McGlen Small said yesterday.

But it was also for his “sugar” and his “pressure”, he added.

The 67-year-old, of St Matthias, Christ Church, was in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis, having a traffickable quantity of the drug, having the drug with intent to supply and cultivating it on September 7.

The court heard that lawmen executed a search warrant at Small’s house and found 39 plants in his yard. The drugs weighed 8.45 pounds and had an estimated street value of $13 800. (HLE)
