69 new virus cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory has reported 69 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), comprising 30 females and 39 males. There were 1 771 tests conducted on Monday, September 13.

Of these latest cases, 16 people are under the age of 18, and the other 53 are 18 years and older.

There are 735 patients in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 6 053 confirmed cases (3 013 females and 3 040 males) since March 2020. Fifty-two lives have been lost to the viral illness.

The public health laboratory has performed 286 390 tests.

A total of 121 643 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. To date, 96 507 people (35.6 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
