Barbados Defence Force (BDF) personnel have secured top honours in a military course in Belize, while three others have completed a key stage of officer training in Jamaica.
Colour Sergeant Dario Pilgrim was named Top Student in the Range Management Qualification Course hosted by the Belize Defence Force.
Two other BDF participants tied for runner-up, giving Barbadian personnel the top three positions in the course.
The training equips military personnel to plan, lead and manage range practices, with successful participants qualifying as Range Conducting Officers.
Meanwhile, Officer Cadet Jataya Crick, Midshipman Jonathan Greenidge and Midshipman Reneiko Harte completed the drill component of the Initial Officer Training Course conducted by the Jamaica Defence Force.
The achievement marks an important step in their military development, with drill training focused on discipline, precision and leadership.
The wider course prepares prospective officers for leadership roles through training in areas including tactics, weapons handling, navigation, first aid, physical fitness and public speaking. Those who complete the full programme are commissioned as officers in their respective defence forces.
