Private and commercial vehicles can now be registered online using the Barbados Revenue Authority’s (BRA) services portal, https://portal.bra.gov.bb.

The BRA said in a media release on Friday that the portal can also be used to apply for visitors’ permits and general licensing services such as weight certificates, inspections and regulation tests.

This follows a revamp of the vehicle registration process in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the long delays experienced by vehicle owners and drivers in processing renewals and new licences.

The BRA said the portal offers several options provided and applications be completed and submitted fully online.

The Authority reminded visitors to the portal to enter a valid email address and upload specified supporting documents and identification, such as a driver’s licence, Barbados identification card or passport when making applications.

Presently, payments can only be facilitated through the SurePay online payment platform bb.surepaybillsonline.com or at any SurePay location, and applicants are required to use the unique alphanumeric code provided upon submission of the online form.

“The Authority is currently working to expand the payment facility options for this service,” the media release stated.

Official government of Barbados receipts and documents will be issued via the email address entered by applicants on the online application form.

The processing of payment transactions for first-time registration of public service vehicles continue on the first floor of the BRA headquarters in Warrens.
