167 new COVID-19 cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory reported 167 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), comprising 78 males and 89 females, out of 2 081 tests conducted on Thursday, September 23.

The lab reported 38 of these individuals are under the age of 18, and the remaining 129 are in the 18 and older age category.

There are now 857 patients in isolation.

Since March 2020, Barbados recorded 7 232 cases (3 577 males and 3 655 females).

The public health laboratory has performed 304 765 tests.

The number of first doses administered under the national vaccination Pprogramme for COVID-19 is 130 046.

To date, 100 802 persons (37.2 per cent of the population) received their second dose and are fully vaccinated.
