COVID-19 death toll in Barbados moves to 71

A second Barbadian lost the battle with COVID-19 on Wednesday morning at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility in St Lucy.

An 85-year-old woman with comorbidities, who was in secondary isolation for ten days, is the latest to pass away. She was unvaccinated.

Earlier, Chief Medical Officer Dr Kenneth George announced a 52-year-old man died in the primary isolation section. He was a patient at the institution for three days, had no chronic illnesses and was unvaccinated.

The death toll from the virus now stands at 71.

Minister of Health and Wellness, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic, extended condolences to the bereaved.  (BGIS)
