311 COVID cases on Tuesday

There were 311 new COVID-19 cases recorded on Tuesday, October 12 from 2 473 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the 155 females and 156 males who tested positive, 69 were under the age of 18, and 242 people were 18 years and older.

There are 541 people in isolation facilities, and 2 273 in home isolation.

A 69-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman died at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility.  There were 103 deaths as at Tuesday, October 12.

Since March 2020, confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 11 785 (5 706 males and 6 079 females).

The public health laboratory has conducted 347 719 tests, to date.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 143 151 (62.7 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 113 850 – 42 per cent of the total population or 49.8 per cent of the eligible population – which represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
