Forget the team selection.
West Indies vice-captain Nicholas Pooran says the regional side has no time for distractions, with their attention fully on defending the ICC Twenty20 World Cup title.
Pooran, a left-handed wicket/keeper batsman has joined skipper Kieron Pollard in calling for positivity ahead of the tournament set to begin on October 23 in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
“We are very close to a tournament so we don’t want to be focusing on who is not selected. To be honest we are one week away from a big tournament, our focus is trying to win and if we don’t win, the media and the fans are going to bash us. Whoever is selected that’s up to the selectors, they can answer those questions, we as players that’s not our job,” the 26-year-old said during a Zoom media conference from the team’s training base in Dubai yesterday.
