Two more lose the battle with COVID-19

Health authorities said two Barbadians died from the complications of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) late on Wednesday, pushing the death toll from the viral illness in the island to 108.

A news release from the Barbados Government Information Service said the two deaths carried the total for Wednesday to five.

A 92-year-old woman, who was fully vaccinated, died in the afternoon while in tertiary isolation at the Queen’s College facility, where she spent eight days.

And, a 56-year-old man, who was unvaccinated, died later in the day after spending two days in the primary isolation unit of the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility.
