Senior squash supremo Mark Sealy claimed the men’s 60-plus category at the recently concluded 2021 United States National Squash Championship at the Arlen Specter Squash Centre in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Coming into the competition as the division’s number one seed, Sealy, 60, a former national cricketer and hockey player, enjoyed an unbeaten run to the final where he dispatched American Tony Brettkelly 11-4, 11-4, 11-3.
The tournament featured over 100 players from across the world and a beaming Sealy returned to the island on Monday carrying the coveted prize to add to his vast collection.
In his heyday, Sealy was a multiple time squash singles champion and now in the twilight of his career, he continues to dominate at the Masters’ level both at home and abroad. His last overseas tournament victory was at the 2019 Canadian Squash Championship in Toronto where he claimed the men’s 55 and over division. (NM)
