Businesses and householders owe the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) $90 million collectively in arrears.

And chairman Stevon Roberts told the Saturday Sun that a team had been mobilised to collect the outstanding monies, particularly from delinquent business operators.

In a telephone interview Thursday, Roberts said he did not intend to name and shame anyone, adding: “The people who owe the Barbados Water Authority know who they are.

“I have assembled a team at the Barbados Water Authority to deal specifically with the collecting of funds. We already had a team, but what I have done is, I have had a meeting with my team, to focus more on having contact with these customers and ensuring that they start to pay their bills and it has been working,” he said.
