Summary of COVID-19 deaths November 12 to 18

Fifteen (coronavirus) COVID-19 deaths occurred in Barbados during the period Friday, November 12, to Thursday, November 18.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness said today that of these, eight were males (53 per cent), whose ages ranged from 36 to 96, with the median age being 73.

Additionally, underlying illnesses or comorbidities were found in 80 per cent of the deceased, with eight of them (53 per cent) having more than one comorbidity.

The two main comorbidities reported were diabetes and hypertension. The others were cardiovascular disease and asthma. Thirteen (87 per cent) of the deceased were unvaccinated.
