Police have discovered a decomposing body near the Mangrove landfill in St Thomas.

The body, said to be in an advanced stage of decomposition, was found about 9:45 a.m. on Sunday as police continued investigations into the disappearance of 30-year-old Samara Bristol.

The identity of the body is yet to be ascertained.

Police say sensitive on-scene investigations are ongoing. The immediate and extended scene were cordoned off and forensic examinations have commenced.

Bristol was reported missing on Tuesday. Police conducted a search for her on Saturday but were unsuccessful.

This is a developing story. (PR/SAT)
