The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) says the integrity of its processes will be maintained as it conducts the annual review of results.
CXC said in a media statement that at this time, its laws gave students the opportunity to query results, ad that is what is being done
Cautioning that it was “not adjusting students’ grades”, the regional body said final results would be issued after the review process.
The statement follows below:
Each year, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) releases preliminary examination results to candidates and regional Ministries of Education.
Following the release of results schools, Ministries, and candidates are given the opportunity to query their results, as we understand that candidates may have questions about their grades.
CXC has an established policy in place for candidates to query Ungraded or Absent results as well as to submit requests to have a script reviewed. Once the query and review processes are completed, final results are issued to candidates via certificates.
CXC is not adjusting students’ grades but rather, the review process is underway for all candidates who submitted queries and request for reviews. All students who have requested queries and reviews will be treated accordingly and the outcome communicated. While we understand the concerns raised by stakeholders, the principle of fairness and process integrity will be maintained. (PR/SAT)
