The Barbados Meteorological Services today issued a flash-flood warning for northwestern districts from 12:15 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Maximum rainfall accumulations of 25 to 50mm in moderate to heavy showers are expected across the northwest of the island and sections of St Lucy, St James and St Peter may be impacted.

A flash-flood warning is issued when rapid flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.

The alert may be terminated sooner if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
