Gems lose again

The Barbados senior netball team lost their Test series 2-0 to the Scotland Thistles in spite of a superlative performance from captain Latonia Blackman in the Emirates Arena in a Glasgow, last night.

The hosts once again employed their running game and physical, stifling defence to establish quarter leads of 19-4, 35-14 and 55-26 before sprinting off winners 74-35.

Before Blackman switched from goal defence to goal attack to give some stability to the mid-court the team was playing ragged, passing the ball to their opponents more often than their teammates.

Blackman had started in the defence circle with vice-captain Shonette Azore-Bruce. (KB)
