The winter tourist season is promising to be a great one, with some hotels already reporting full bookings, says Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) chief executive officer Rudy Grant.

He was addressing the media at Grantley Adams International Airport after the arrival of the third of three inaugural flights yesterday, bringing more than 200 passengers on the flights.

“The BHTA is extremely excited about this because what it signals is . . . that Barbados is still the No. 1 sought-after destination in the region,” Grant said.

“We are seeing for the winter season visitor arrivals we have not seen over the last year and certainly not the last winter. We’ve had some challenges but we are highly optimistic on this occasion we will continue to see good numbers, certainly from the projections we are seeing. (CA)
