Some small business people in Speightstown are still suffering and do not hold out much hope for a merry Christmas.

On Saturday, many of them said people continued to pass through the town, only stopping to buy groceries or eat at restaurants.

The owner of Bajan Fashions, who did not wish to be identified, said things were “rough”.

“There’s not a lot of people around, you can see cars driving through because the top road block but I think Speightstown needs spots where people can park and shop. Those who come to Speightstown, go to the supermarket, after all, people got to eat, but for us, it ain’t looking too bright,” he said. (CA)
