The threshold for a custodial sentence in Jeffrey Aaron Holder’s gun case had been reached. However, said Justice Randall Worrell, the court would not be imposing jail time on the offender.

Holder, 22, formerly of Grazettes, St Michael, and now of Cave Hill, in the same parish, had pleaded guilty in the No. 2 Supreme Court to having a .45-calibre ACP semi-automatic pistol and 16 rounds of ammunition in his possession on January 22, 2017.

He was fined $15 000 in four months or 785 days in prison for the illegal gun and $7 500 in four months or 785 days in prison for the ammunition.

Holder was represented by attorney Shamar Bovell, while the State’s Counsel Keith Robertson appeared for the prosecution. (HLE)
