Stop moving cones says resident

Some motorists travelling along the newly repaired Dark Hole in St Joseph yesterday were met with an unpleasant surprise.

Following work this year, a hole in the road has forced the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) to again declare it impassable.

“The section of road at Dark Hole, St Joseph, between the Parks Road and the Bruce Vale junctions has suffered a culvert collapse. The road is therefore impassable and road users are advised to divert using Coggins, Chalky Mount and Bissex to Parks Road,” it stated in a release.

This, however, did not stop some motorists from simply removing the cones, driving through, then replacing them, much to the annoyance of resident Stephen Padmore. (CA)
