UPDATE: Road Fatality at The Mount

A 44-year-old St Michael man died in a collision along The mount, St George, on Wednesday morning.

He was identified by family as Ian Randolph Absolom of Piedmont Park, Grazettes, St Michael.

Police say they received the call around 9:05 a.m.

The passenger in the front seat of Absolom’s vehicle was unresponsive when emergency technicians arrived. The person – whose identity has not been released – had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Barbados Fire Service and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle, who also was not named, complained of minor injuries.

This was the first road fatality for 2022.
