Wickham: No body blow from Moe

Former Senator Lucille Moe’s stinging comments against Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley are a “strategic hit”, timed for maximum effect, but should have minimal impact.

That was the response of political consultant and pollster Peter Wickham, after Moe, now a campaign strategist with the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) after being a long-time confidante of Mottley and member of the Barbados Labour Party, revealed in yesterday’s SUNDAY SUN that she was “afraid” of Mottley and that the woman whom she has known for over 50 years, had changed.

“I became afraid . . . because of all that was happening. Everybody deals with power differently and as hard as this is to say, I am still somewhat afraid of her . . . . As I watch what is transpiring in Barbados it gives me that cause for concern,” said Moe, who was sacked from Mottley’s Cabinet in 2020.

Wickham, along with political scientists Dr George Belle and Dr Kristina Hinds, were reacting to the development, as well as the interview of former DLP Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler in the same edition. (RA)
