Veteran West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach says he’s pleased to be back in the maroon colours for next month’s three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against India.

Roach, the most experienced Windies quick has been recalled along with middle-order batsman Nkrumah Bonner and opener Brandon King for the tour from February 6 to 20.

“It is a good feeling to be back. It is a bit surprising as I’ve not played a one-dayer in about two years and with COVID-19 around, but it’s obviously good to be back around and in the frame. This is a format that I love and enjoy and hopefully I can get the job done that is required for the team and help in any way possible,” Roach told Weekend Sport on Wednesday at Kensington Oval.

The 33-year-old Roach is set to play ODI cricket for the first time since a game against India in August 2019. He has played 92 ODIs, taking 124 wickets at an economy rate of 5.06 runs per over with career-best figures of six for 27. (AGB)
