271 new virus cases

A total of 271 people – 121 males and 150 females – tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) on Sunday, February 13, from the 1 331 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 62 people under the age of 18, and 209 who were 18 years and older.

There were 148 people in isolation facilities, while 5 951 were in home isolation.

As at February 13, the virus had claimed 299 lives.

The public health laboratory has carried out 567,691 tests since February 2020, and recorded 51 895 COVID-19 cases (24 062 males and 27 833 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 159 507 (69.8 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 148 406 (54.8 per cent of the total population or 65 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
