Barbadians should not be concerned about the short, sporadic rainfall that has been occurring for the past months.
The advice has come from Dr Kathy-Ann Caesar, chief meteorologist of the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, who says this type of activity is normal in the early part of the dry season.
“It does come with a lot of moisture, easterly winds and clouds across the Atlantic and across the Caribbean. So what we get are smaller, shallow clouds that can produce showers on the easterly flow and they tend to be more sporadic. They tend to start suddenly and end just as suddenly and they move really quickly across the island,” she said in an interview.
“You will find that they are slightly heavier on the west side of the island than on the east and they would also develop more at night than during the day.” (SB)
