Barbados’ reigning champion apprentice N’Rico Prescod has moved his tack up north to Canada.

The 23-year-old, who won 19 races last year, left yesterday for Edmonton, Alberta, to race at the Century Mile track.

Prescod, of Clevedale, Black Rock, announced himelf in a major way in 2018 when he won the Barbados Derby on Nzinga for his connections Some Guys and a Gyal and trainer Raphael Greene.

He is eagerly looking forward to the season, which starts April 30.

“It feels like I’m finally getting somewhere, especially after this trip had been postponed on two previous occasions due to the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said. (LY)
