The client’s account maintained by attorney Norman Leroy Lynch showed a deposit of $50 000 in August 2005 and one for $407 634 in June 2007, a senior banking official said yesterday.

That account, said CIBC FirstCaribbean’s director of retail banking channels Michelle Whitelaw, also showed three large withdrawals, including one for $290 714.60.

The current balance, the witness said, was zero.

Whitelaw was one of two witnesses to take the stand when the theft trial of attorney Lynch continued in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday.

The then senior branch manager recalled that then Inspector Mark White visited the Broad Street branch of the bank and informed her about an investigation relating to the attorney. (HLE)
