No one kept up with the Joneses at the 2022 Powerade/Dasani Barbados Secondary Schools Athletics Championships (BSSAC).

Athletes representing the Jennifer and Anthony Jones Zone (JAJ) emerged as double crowned champions yesterday when the two-day track and field meet concluded at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

Overnight, the zone appeared to be heading towards a clean sweep of both boys’ and girls’ titles and completed it after scoring 523 and 567.50 points, respectively.

The Peter Vaughan (PV) Zone were the runners’-up in the girls’ section (409), while the Geoffrey Burke (GB) Zone came third with 370 points. Among the boys, GB (383.50) came second and PV (359) third.

The St Michael School star and most outstanding male athlete Josiah Parris stole the headlines after storming to his second CARIFTA Games qualifying time, clocking a stunning 21.27 seconds to win gold in the Open Boys’ 200 metres. (AGB)
