Exciting all-rounder Nyeem Young will join five other Barbadians in a 16-man West Indies’ white-ball camp starting tomorrow at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Young, 21, who represented the West Indies at the 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup, has also played for Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League, taking eight wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 8.50 runs per over.

Apart from Young, the other uncapped players named by Cricket West Indies for the camp, which runs until April 13, are Leeward Islands Hurricanes’ top-order batsman Keacy Carty and Guyana Harpy Eagles’ pacer Nial Smith.

The other Bajans are Shamarh Brooks, Raymon Reifer, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves and Shai Hope.

Head coach Phil Simmons said the camp will focus on improving skill sets as the West Indies look ahead to two major global events over the next two years – the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year and the 2023 ICC One-Day World Cup to be played in India. (CMC)
