204 new virus cases

A total of 204 people (91 males and 113 females) were identified as COVID-19 positive from the 960 tests conducted on Saturday, April 2, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 55 people under the age of 18, and 149 who were 18 years and older.

There were 68 people in isolation facilities, while 1 421 were in home isolation.

As at April 2, there were 375 deaths related to COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has carried out 615 321 tests since February 2020, and recorded 59 938 COVID-19 cases (27 754 males and 32 184 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 161 190 (70.6 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 151 254 (66 185 males and 85 069 females) 55.8 per cent of the total population or 66.2 per cent of the eligible population.

The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
