More youth seeking counsel

More young people are seeking help with counselling through the Centre for Counselling Addiction Support Alternatives (CASA).

Chair of the board of trustees Edmund Grimes said they had been seeing an increase in those seeking assistance with substance abuse.

“There appears to be an increase in substance abuse, based on the number of requests for counsel,” he told the media yesterday.

“I think a lot of those requests are coming through the mental health hotline that was just launched. Persons are calling in and we’re helping in that regard. (RA)
