Sir David Seale’s Dominus made a swift return to the winner’s enclosure from injury to record his sixth career win in blistering fashion yesterday at the Garrison Savannah.

The five-year-old dark bay horse under jockey Rey Williams sprinted across the field from his outside draw to capture the feature Bertram ‘Bertie’ Corbin BSS Memorial Trophy (Handicap) over 1 100 metres for three-year-olds and older rated 95-75 and below.

Trained by champion trainer Andrew Nunes, with Anderson Prescott Jr as groom, Dominus went straight to the lead and laid down some sizzling fractions of 24.3 seconds for the first quarter-mile and a brisk 48.3 seconds for the half-mile.

All along, Sir Jimmy tracked him in second place, with Kariba Star in third and newcomer Corsi in fourth going along the backstretch. (LY)
