Worrell lands scholarship

Shadae Worrell’s promising track and field career has taken off and is set to land in the United States.

On the eve of her CARIFTA Games debut, the 17-year-old quarter-miler has secured a full athletic scholarship to Georgia State University.

The St Michael School and former Alexandra School student will leave the island in August to pursue a bachelor’s degree in environmental science.

During a telephone interview with NATION SPORT yesterday after the news was confirmed, Worrell said she is excited to start her new journey in the summer.
