Barbadian-born England cricketer Jofra Archer is on board with pushing the indigenous sport of road tennis to the world and hopefully a future Olympics berth.

Yesterday, Archer, who has recovered from an elbow injury that has kept him out of action for over a year, accepted the role of goodwill ambassador for Barbados in road tennis.

Minister of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment, Charles Griffith made the announcement at his ministry’s headquarters in Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall.

“When I heard that Mr Archer was available to be one of our ambassadors to promote road tennis, I immediately recognised that as one of those initiatives which we must embrace (in) the Ministry of Sports,” he said. (KB)
