COVID-19 Update for Saturday, April 23

New COVID-19 cases numbered 355 (156 males and 199 females) for Saturday, April 23, from the 1 213 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

They comprised 55 people who are under the age of 18, and 300 who are 18 years and older.

There were 86 people in isolation facilities, and 3 175 in home isolation.

Barbados’ confirmed COVID-19 cases stand at 67 611 (31 099 males and 36 512 females), with 389 deaths.

The public health laboratory has carried out 641 298 tests since February 2020.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 161 641 (70.8 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 151 805 (66 480 males and 85 325 females), which is 56 per cent of the total population or 66.5 per cent of the eligible population, which represents those who are 12 years and older.  (BGIS)
